Problem Solved

The past weekend was a long holiday weekend, the 2nd in the 3 weeks that I have been in Thailand. I took advantage of Buddha's birthday , and headed to the Island of Koh Chang, a mere 6 hours away from the urban bussel of Bangkok.

I was lucky with the weather, which held, and we had very little rain or overcast. I say lucky, because as I write these lines, a day after I got back, I am drenched to the bone after an ill-prepared jaunt into town.....

Since I don't like the sun much (it hurts usss) I spent most of the day zipping around the island on my moped (sweet). I swam in waterfalls and enjoyed the remote parts of the island, wich differ greatly from the more touristy areas. Those areas have their charms, especially at night, but sometimes one still wants to feel a little bit alone in the world, or at least I do.

When I wasn't zipping around, alternating between my fear of getting sun-burnt and drenched (both of which proved false), I ate amaaaaazing fruit, drank great shakes and copious amounts of Chang. The thai curries weren't that bad either :-)

Here are some picts of my super cheap bungalows on the beach, enjoy!!!

Confession Time

Those of your who check my blog regularly (Hi Mom!!) may have noticed it hasn't been updated in a while. That's my fault and I apologize. I got lazy and frankly didn't feel that I did anything worth blogging about.

But thats changed now. I am back in Thailand, working for a small Thai NGO (web site under construction), getting up to no good, and traveling. The easiest way to update everyone is still my blog so I have relaunched Occasional Reflections.

For those who missed out, I put together a short clip to bring you up to speed.....
